Turkish Survival Phrases, Lesson 8: "I don’t understand." In Turkish.

Lesson focus

In this lesson we shall see a very useful phrase meaning "I don't understand." It is useful, of course, because many times you won't immediately pick up on what people are saying.
In Turkish, "I don't understand" is Anlamıyorum. Let's break it down. An-la-mı-yo-rum. And once more, Anlamıyorum.
Another thing you can say when you're confused is "I don't know," which in Turkish is Bilmiyorum. Let's break it down. Bil-mi-yo-rum. Bilmiyorum.
Another recourse is to tell someone, "I don't speak Turkish." This phrase in Turkish is Türkçe konuşmuyorum. Let's break it down. Türk-çe ko-nuş-mu-yo-rum. Once again. Türkçe konuşmuyorum.
The first word, Türkçe, means "Turkish." Türk-çe. Türkçe. This is followed by Konuşmuyorum, which means "do not speak." Ko-nuş-mu-yo-rum. Konuşmuyorum.
Here's the whole sentence again. Türkçe konuşmuyorum. And with the native speed, Türkçe konuşmuyorum.

Outro

Okay, to close out today's lesson, we would you to practice what you have just learned. I will provide you with the English equivalent of the phrase and you're responsible for shouting it aloud. You have a few seconds before I give you the answer. So, Iyi şanslar, which means "good luck" in Turkish.
