| In this lesson, we're going to learn other useful tips to talk about your schedule - for example, if a friend asks you "What are you doing this weekend?" |
| Let’s start! |
| To ask a friend or someone you already know, you say: |
| Bu hafta sonu ne yapıyorsun? |
| [slowly] Bu hafta sonu ne yapıyorsun? |
| Let’s break it down. |
| Bu → is "this". |
| hafta sonu → is "weekend". |
| ne → is "what". |
| and |
| yapıyorsun → is "you are doing". |
| If you want to ask the same question in a formal way, simply replace ‘yapıyorsun’ with ‘yapıyorsunuz’ |
| Bu hafta sonu ne yapıyorsunuz? |
| [slowly] Bu hafta sonu ne yapıyorsunuz? |
| Adding -uz to the end of the verbs will give your sentences a formal feeling when addressing other people. |
| What if you’re not asking about this weekend? |
| Asking about a different time period is as easy as replacing Bu hafta sonu. |
| Tomorrow is yarın. So you can also say Yarın ne yapıyorsun? What are you doing tomorrow? Or, you could also put in a weekday, like Pazartesi, "Monday" or Pazar, which is "Sunday". |
| Pazartesi ne yapıyorsun? |
| Pazar ne yapıyorsun? |
| So now, if someone asks *you* Yarın ne yapıyorsun?, or "What are you doing tomorrow?", how can you answer? |
| Here's an example: Ofise gidiyorum. "I'm going to the office." gidiyorum means "I'm going", and ofise means "to the office". Feel free to replace "office" with any other location! |

| In some situations, the question Ne yapıyorsun? can also mean more generally "What do you do?" or "What is your job?" |
| This is a really common question you can ask, or that you might be asked the first time you meet someone. |
